COVID-19 Personal Protection Information
We are concerned about your personal safety and ours. We have had to limit private haulers from bringing items to Prairieland and this issue will limit our summer programs as well. We are trying to find ways to accommodate many disposal issues. If you have questions about programs, please call for more information. 507-776-3232
Garbage: Licensed garbage haulers have always had access to our facility. If you have a need for a dumpster or roll-off container service, the licensed haulers are listed on our webpage on this site. We are now able to allow private or individual haulers to bring loads to Prairieland beginning April 22, 2020. When you bring a load, upon arrival, please come to the window inside the office door. Be prepared to pay with a check or cash. We only accept these private loads from 7 – 11 and from 1 – 3, Monday through Friday. Remember we do not take construction debris at Prairieland. There is a minimum charge of $40.48 for up to 1,000 pounds of garbage. Above that weight, the rate is based on $75 per ton. We weigh loads coming to the facility and after you drop off the load when you leave.
Household Hazardous Waste: The household hazardous waste program throughout Martin and Faribault Counties is open on Wednesdays only beginning Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at Prairieland in Truman. No appointment needed.
Appliances and Electronics: We are able to take appliances and electronics at Prairieland beginning April 22, 2020. When you bring items to Prairieland, upon arrival, please come to the window inside the office door. Be prepared to pay with a check or cash. The disposal cost is $15 per item. We only accept items from 7 – 11 and from 1 – 3, Monday through Friday.
Thank you for your patience and your attention to safety. We will get through this difficult time together.
