PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment
November 23, 2021
The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on November 23, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioners Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN. The following items will be on the agenda:
Variance Request from Eldean Maschoff within Section 6 of Rutland Township. Mr. Maschoff is proposing to build a storage and equipment building closer than the minimum required setback from the ordinary high water level on Elm Creek in an “SL-1” Shoreland Special Protection District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a minimum setback of 200 feet from the ordinary high water level in an “SL-1” Shoreland Special Protection District.
Variance Request from Ronald & Luann Roloff within Section 15 of Fairmont Township. Mr. & Mrs. Roloff are proposing to build/finish a covered deck onto their existing house encroaching closer than the minimum required setback from the centerline of the public right-of-way in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a 200 foot setback from the centerline of any public right-of-way for a new building site effective February 17, 2004 and one hundred and thirty (130) feet from the centerline of any public right-of-way for existing building sites constructed before February 17, 2004. Existing building sites cannot further encroach closer than the nearest present building from the centerline of the road provided greater than 130 feet from the centerline in an “A” Agricultural District.
