The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on July 27, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioners Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN. The following items will be on the agenda:
Variance Request from Lawrence Sukalski within Section 34 of Silver Lake Township. Mr. Sukalski is proposing to build a grain bin encroaching closer than the minimum required setback from the centerline of the public right-of-way in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a 200 foot setback from the centerline of any public right-of-way for a new building site effective February 17, 2004 and one hundred and thirty (130) feet from the centerline of any public right-of-way for existing building sites constructed before February 17, 2004. Existing building sites cannot further encroach closer than the nearest present building from the centerline of the road provided greater than 130 feet from the centerline in an “A” Agricultural District.
Variance Request from Matt Kunkel (Betty Kunkel, property owner) within Section 6 of Manyaska Township. Mr. Kunkel is proposing to replace an existing cement patio encroaching closer than the minimum required setback to the east side yard setback and from the ordinary high water level on Fox Lake in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a minimum setback of 30 feet from the sideyard and 100 feet from the ordinary high water level in an “SL-2” Shoreland Residential Recreational District.
